Hit Makers & Harleys
Story & Photography by Woody Woodard
The Darryl Worley’s Hit Makers & Harleys fundraiser for the Savannah Cancer Center was once again held at Jackson’s Bumpus Harley-Davidson. Featured songwriters were Darryl Worley with “Have You Forgotten;” Jim Brown with “Five O’Clock Somewhere;” Mark Collie, mentor to Darryl Worley, with “Even the Man in the Moon is Crying;” and Daryle Singletary with “Let Her Lie.”
There was a great auction with numerous artist-signed items, trips and dinners. This was the largest amount raised through the Bumpus fundraisers. There were numerous individuals who took to heart the cause the money was supporting. Darryl spoke of the people blessed by not having to drive the five-hour round trip to Memphis because of the facility in Savannah. It is a true philanthropist who gives of his time and money to support a critical endeavor. Thanks go out to Bumpus Harley-Davidson and the songwriters who commit their skills to this purpose.
