Jackson State Foundation Banquet was the host to NFL Hall of Fame Emmitt Smith of the Dallas Cowboys. During Emmitt Smith’s 15 years in the NFL, he leads in rushing yards of 18,355 and 164 TDs. During that career he held three Super Bowl rings and was inducted into the Football Hall of Fame. After football he won the Dancing with the Stars mirror ball trophy.
This was a fitting person to speak at the banquet. The finishing touches are complete on the new Jackson State Community College School of Nursing, which now has the leading edge in technology with the latest state-of-the-art equipment, equivalent to the local hospitals’ current equipment.
Dr. Allana Hamilton, the new President of the college, has hit the ground running, and the staff finds her a hard working, congenial person, striving to bring the college to the next level of recognition in academic and medical education.
