Runway For A Cure

On October 19 the West Tennessee community came together for the fight against breast cancer at the Carl Perkins Civic Center. West Tennessee Health Care|Alice and Carl Kirkland Cancer Center was the presenting sponsor for Runway for a Cure, an annual event that raises money for breast cancer research and resources, both locally and internationally.
The night began with a silent auction and cocktails. Dinner was served, and special spotlight videos were shown of local cancer survivor, Ann-Marie Kelley, and others giving hope to all who have been affected by breast cancer. Michele Walker, Lela Garrett Canter, and Jessica Saputo were recognized as honorary survivors at the dinner.
LOLO was the evening’s emcee, which included live musical performances by local artists and pop-ups by Kendra Scott and The Goldn Company Jewelry. LOLO also provided commentary for the runway fashion show, which included eleven boutiques with models showing the latest trends and seasonal fashion. Participating boutiques were: Hattie’s, Meri’s, Sage, The Queen Bees, Farmer’s Daughter, Tailored Fox, The Yellow Canary, Sweet Graces, Sassy Grace/Southern Gent, Sand’s Florist, and Doris Ann’s. There was a Men in Pink competition with men showing their best pink outfits. These men fundraised all month to donate to the cause.
The local chapter of the American Cancer Society is grateful to all sponsors, volunteers, committee members, boutiques, and guests who supported this cause.
