The Jackson-Madison County Humane Society’s 18th Annual “ Puttin’ for the Pets” Golf Tournament was held at the Jackson National Golf Club. It was a furrific day for animal lovers/golfers to unite for a worthy cause. The third Monday in September has been the date for this annual fundraiser for 18 years as this is the last major fundraiser for the Jackson-Madison County Humane Society (JMCHS) each year.
This event could not take place without the sponsors who underwrite the event. The City of Jackson was the Hot Diggity Dog Putting Contest Sponsor and Robinson Toyota was the Hole in One Sponsor. The corporate sponsors were as follows: Pinnacle Foods, First Bank, S.M. Lawrence, Jackson Energy Authority, VIP Jackson Magazine, Forever Communications, WNBJ-TV, The Jackson Sun, American Woodmark, Golden Circle Graphics and LAMAR. We are so appreciative of all of our sponsors, and those who donated auction items, prizes and doggie bag items. The tournament could not have taken place without the awesome group of volunteers and golfers. Backyard Barbecue provided a delicious dinner and Coca-Cola and Central Distributors were our beverage sponsors.
The highlight of the day was the winner of the Dog Kissing contest – Dakota Wilson – who planted a big one on our volunteer Bulldog, Rudy Todd. They say you have to kiss a lot of bulldogs in life to get ahead!
